ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, January 26. J. 0. Bjofcb, a horse trainer, who broke his leg in a full on Thursday, died tat night. Westport, January 26. A single man named Rob rfc Smith, aged 29, and a horse diver by trade, was run over by a loaded troll.y in the Denniston cj'liery this morning. His chest was crushed, aad man dif d. Napieb, Jifluary 26 Mra Elzibeth Williams, elder sister of the Hon. Junes C rro'l, Native Minister, was killed on Saturday night near Wairoa. Deceased was driving with another lady, and the latter alighted to open a gate. The horse bolted, acd Mrs Williams jumped from the trap and fractured her tkull. She died io 20 minutes. At the inquest a verdict of acciden'al deith was returned. Deceased was about 48 years (.Id, and leaves a family of three sons and two daughters. The Hon J. Carroll arrived this morning, and the funeral takes place this afternoon.
