Christohurch, Janua y 25. About 4 o'clock this morning, when Cons'able Troahy wis paßg : ng through Cathedral Square, he discovered an old age pensioner named George Waters in the fire tank, hanging on- to the railings. His coat and wai-ts'at were hanging on the railings outide. The man was in a rery exhausted s ate f om immers'on and nearly drowned. The cons able removed him to the hospita', where he is getting on satisfy crily.
