' Tbe match between Gudgeon and Walker multed in a win for Gudgeon who, making a phenomenally fast fin sb, •beat Walk c r by a length and a quarter in 2min 3 2-ssee. Gudgeon then tackled Taylor. The firs - (Vent wai a mile, paced. Taylor won this by three lengths in 2min 2 2-ssec, The second event was a mile, unpaced. Taylor won by a similar distance in 3rain 12 3-sses. The winner held Gudgeon easily, and displayed magw'ficept form, and received an ovation. Taylor a'sa won the Taylor plat®, Walne being second. Walker and Chalmers ran second to Taylor in the qualifying heat.
