The names of selectors who were reported to be in anear were submitted to the Boird. It was resolved to forfeit the interests of the holders in section 6, block 12, Omona, and section 2, block 12, OraoDa, the fornnr to bo asked to pay arrears of rent. The Commissioner was authorised to deal with the cases on their meri's.
The Ranger's report on S. G. Runs, sections' 1, block 10, 5, block 13, 3, b'ook 14, (Jpper Wai-ara, held by D. A. Watt, was received. No improve m&nts hid been eflee'ed and th<* rent was in arrear to tbe amount of .£74 1 s. On the Commissioner reporting that W. Ojurtney had make no payment of rent in respect of sections forfeited by him, it; was decided to pi tc3 the matter in the hands of tbe Crown solicitor for reeovery of rent due. The proposed deviation of the Vera road, a plan of which was submitted, was agroed to, and the license to occupy section 5, block 14, Fouatu, was amended accordingly. The Under Sec etary of Crown Linls forwarded the Lw officer's opinion ss to the disp:sal of timber by Crown tenants. —To be acknowledged. W. A. An application by tb.3 Whangamornona Dairy Factory for a site for a creamery on section 84, block 10, Pouata, was read.—Applicants are to be asked to state how much land they roquire, and to submit a sketch, which will then be referred to tbe Ringer for his report. A plan of the site for a public hall on a portion of section 68. block 14, Pouatu, was laid on the table, und it wag resolved that tbe land be reserved for the propo-ed hall. On hearing tho report of the Ringer, the Burd granted Mrs F. M. McOutoheon's request; for exemption from personal residence on sections 10, 11, 12, block 15, Pouatu, the Commissioner voting against it on grounds which he stated.
J. Exley wrote, explaining that he had not ploughed up the whole of section 4, block 9, Hawera, but only 47 acres and that he c >nddered a deposit of £3O should be a sufficient guaran'ea that the land would again ba laid down in pis.ure. It was resolved that provided ha deposit £2 per acre, but not less than £3O for the area ploughed up, no further action b) taker, the Ranger to report oo the area ploughed. The Commissioner stated it was proposed to open for selection as much land as possible before March 31st, and he therefore asked for authority to fix prices of forfeited sections, and such sections of land at pressn l ; surveyed as aright be put on the market.—Accsded to, the Commissioner and Ranger to confer and fix prices. It was resolved to give notice thac the Board p-opjsrs at its next meeting to re-iciud the approval of J. H. Oliver's application to transfer section 2, block 7, Egmont, to H. W. Sexton, as the granting of the transfer was contrary to the spirit of the Land Act.
J. Harre waited on the Board and applied for four months' extension of time to resida on his knd in the Pouatu Survey District owing to his difficulty in getting timber. —Agreed to. After considering an agreement for partnership between Messrs Howard and Young, the B.>ard declined i,he app'icatiou of W. H. Young to trjnsfer oue-half of his interest iu ssoti.jus 17, 18, and 22, block 30, Omona to G. S. Howard, on the grouud lhat Howard was to be more of a servant than a partner.
