Court to-day Murdoch Sturt, master of th« rir«r steamer Manuwa, was charged with having sold liquor contrary to the terms of htt packet license. After a stay of a couple of hours the steamer returned to town. For the proß eution it was held that the licensee bad, by selling when tha vessel hid finished her journey, infringed upon section 159 of the Lioan- [ sing Acj of 1881. F.t the deftnee it was argued that as the trip was advertised as an all-day | excursion the vessel's port of departure land definition was Wanganui, thus the stoppage was simply an inddirafc In the p'S«ag<\ !
