A fire at Ballina destroyed 100 acres of sugar cane. A fatmer named Kelly was caught and burned tu death. Brisbane, January 6. The thermometer at Texas regis'ered 121 degrees, Great havoc is being done to the tobacco crops. DUST STORMS. Received 7, 1.?6 a.m. Sydney, January 6. Ths weather is boisterous With heavy dust storms. A gale is ragiDg on th« s.u'h coast. Melbourne, January 6. There are cyclonic storms in the city f-nd country and tremendous dust sfcorrus. In soma p'acea the railways are blocked by drifting sand, There is a heavy gale on the coast.
