THE POST OFFICE.
At the Borough Council meeting on Monday evening, Or. Brosking asked if theie was any knowledge of what was b iug done in connection with the maMerof a Lev post office for New Plymouth—whether one was to bo erected, and if so in what position. The Mayor said that the PcstmasterGeneral had in'imaged that the site uude offer by the Borough Council and the Harbour Boatd would not be used, and had stated in effect that a new post office, in brick, would be erected on the piweiit si' e. Cr. Stohr: And the proper pl*ce, too. Cr. Brooking agreed.
The Mayor, con'inuing, ssid the member fo;' tba district had taken the matt;-r up, and was endeavouring to get tho pos*; ( ffice erected on the pro posed rww site. Cr. Brooking thought the member fo" '4m <■ ist< >ct shoul I have some expr- s-ion of the people on the subject, and not go on wi<h some idea of his own.
