Trumper and Duff opened for Australia with fine forcing crickst. The bowling was poor, and tbey scored rapidly, 78 being produced oft 12 overs by most brilliant play.

Duff was CAUght at, the wicket by Findlay after a free and fkiiful innings. One for 108. Oxford's score was passed as the result of 35 minutes' pl iy. Tho bowling was poor and demoralised.
Trnmper was caught at cover-point by Wyld after a brilliant, sterling ladings, a feature of wbifh was bis fine pulling leg hitlii g. H< gave a chance at 86, and another to mid-on at 117, both beii g skvers. His hi's included fifteen 4's Two for 213.
