Wellington, May 23. . At a meeting of the Coronation Committee to-day the Clergymen's Committee report in favour of abandoning the outdoor services was received. It was decided to ai range to hive two bymns and two pitriotio Ponga sung at the gathering on the Basin Reserve.

Wellington, May 25, Sir Joseph Ward states that expendi- | ture by local bodies on memorials of the coronation, such as fountains, will jbe considered a coiome'ijorative exj penditure and be assisted by t,he Government wi'h a subsidy of £SOO to oities and £2OO to boroughs.
