THE CORONATION CELEBRATIONS.

■ > AUSTRALIAN CONCERT TO LONDON POOR. HI MESS AISMIATIOK. London, May 19. Mia Ada Crossley gives a concert, wholly by Australian artists, to the London poor on the day after the King's dinner. Mr Barton has been asked to pmide.

The Wellington celebrations committee has decided to ask the City Council for assistance to the extent of £SOO. Nelson and Timaru committees are asking for £2OO each. The local Fire Brigade has decided to hold a torchlight procession on .the aight of Coronation Day. Details will he arranged by the committee during the coining month. A reainder is given to citizens of the public meeting called by the Mayor for this evening to consider a general programme for Coronation Day.

Ohbistchuech, May 20. Demonstrations in connection with the coronation will be on the saintlines as those at the time of the Royal visit. Locil bodies will be a*ked t • contribute £SOO between th«m, arid tha same sum is expected from the Government. Neighbouring lrcal bodies are eo-operariog with Christ churoa in the celebrations.

Wanqanui, May 20. It has been decided to carry eut the following programme: A military parade in the morning, followed by united religious services; in the afternoon there will be a big demonstration, with the planting of two oaks; stlutiog the flag by echoel children of the district, and a procession through the town. In ths evening the town is to be illumioated aud a fireworks display take place.
