♦ ■ PUB PBBBS ASSOCIATION. Wibtpokt, May 20. Sir Joseph Ward visi'ed Seddonvillo to-day, and was entertained at a banquet. He also received several deputations, and promised to piovide telephonio communication between Westport and Karamei. Tne Government, he said, was in earnest about the State mine, but aclaune in the Stat* deal Mines Bill had made it that ; money should t;e placed on the E«ti- | mates for continuing the work that | was a clog on the machinery, Ht hoped to have this removed next v session. | To-night Sir Jo-t ph and Lady Ward are being entertained at a banquet at Westport. In the course of a lmgtay speech, Sir Joseph advocated an Imperial Zollverein and reciprocal commercial treaties. ■ <r
