VINCENT ERUPTION DECREASING. New York, Muy 17. Fifty looters at St. Pierre, one being in possession of ten thousand francs in gold, were e»ch sentenced 10 five years' imprisonment. Mont enormous flashes were visible at the Port de Franca last Tnursdiy and the night following. Yesterday it was covered with thick clouds, glowing led and interspersed with fla-ihei and showers of cinders. There are now supplies of provisions and disinfectants. Thiee thousand persons are receiving relit f. The St. Vincent eruption is decreasing.
RELIEF FUNDS. Received 18, 5.2 p.m. , London, May 17. Out of £14,000 already received, the Lord Mayor of London has c\b!e.d a first remittance of £IO,OOO to St. Vm-, cent. The Queen subscribed £SOO, accompanied t>y a letter expressing her deep sympathy. The Lord Mayor of Livtrpool has opened a list. Jamaica has voted £IOOO to the St. Vincent and Martinique funds, Secchelles £2OO to the St. Vincent fund, 'Pbe Hank of England addrd £SOO to the Bank of France's Martinique list, th« latter bank having subscribed £IOOO.
