MR J. G. WOOLLEY'S VISIT CANCELLED.

Special to News. Wellington, May 12. The executive of the New Zetland Alliance held a special m-eting this afternoon to cousider a cablegram received from Sir Woolley this morning. Mr Woolley had, oa April 13tb, cabled to them the one word " impossible," which they feared meant he could not come, but they waited for farther information before saying so publicly. Is. st week they cabled asking bim to telegraph whether he was coming or not, Yina they received the following answer to-day : • " No. S*e letter." The executive unanimously expressed very deep regret that Mr Woolley was unable to carry out his proposed visit; to New Zetland, U.lieviug that at the present time there is no speaker who could render more valuable service in the no-license campaign.
