Mary Vial, a married womsn, and Soger Meldrum, her brother, were committed for trial to-day for burning a house in Nith-street, InvercargiU, on 13th Novembsr with intent to defraud the New Zetland Insurance Company of .£7O, infunoce on furniture. This was the ca-e in which fuinitnre w»s borrowed from a neighbour and returned after tbe visit of the insurance official.
