There was no doubt about the quality of the music on Thursday evening. It was of tha best from first to laet, each it»ra being thoroughly enjoyed and warmly applauded. The orchestral selections by the Garrison Band were most creditably executed, eo far as precision was concerned, the only element needing improvement being delicacy of phrasing, a point that depends greatly on the individual players. Mr. Richards' cornet solo was Tory fine, the florid passages being attacked with ease and considerable executive skill. A quartette, including two violins and organs, met with great approval. Altogether the entertainment was one that, »h»uld huve attracted a crowded house, and reflected the greatest credit on il>e Garrison Band. The hall was ta<t fully arranged for the occasion, and , further improvements will be introduced at th« nex l ; concert.
