THIS TOWN CLOCK.
TO THB EDITOR. Sir,—l sue from the Daily News repnrt of the me .tirg of the Chainlet' of Ooonmei-c..' that Mr Samuel is desirous of app:opr aiintj the mo-ioy collect d for tiie itbove object, to building groin* on tbe sea b-meli. I, as an interest d individual, beg Lave to okjoet to that course. If thote is not tufficient money to do what was intended lot the project be carried out ou a smaller scale. I feel sure more money might be raised by means of entertainments. If the Government will not assist in the ma',tar I would suggest, th.it a clock be got acu .rding to what theie is in hand, and be fixed to the Town Hall, or some other building, as may be thought b.st. If we would have our litrie town to be interesting both to Ourselves and to visitors we should have a cloclt to lo>'k at; for even those who carry watcbss need some stand ad time. Money bas beju subscribed for a clock, and I do not think it will giv-i gaiifuctiou to be spent in groins.—l am, etc., Clock.
