The hospital authorities refuse to ktep the pitient. Dr. Ma*on telegraphed to the Mayor that if a case occurred in i;he district »n iso'a'ed housa and pnpe- tre-i'ment, mugt bf provided. The Di'-'rct Hp l h Officer has arras.** for t>.t.. at Uit. smallpox reserve, but say. thit he cannot ob'ain the necessary atterdar.ce. He sta'ep, ■however, that the pa'iwnt >s net suffering from plague. The patient is still :at the hospital, and the City Council ihas appointed the Mayer and a committee to attend to the matter,
