A POPULAR MAYOR.
PER PKESS ASSOCIATION. Hokitika, May 1. A largely attended public meeting this evening to recognise the services rendered by Mr H. S. Michel m Mayor for seven years and captain of the Fire Brigade for 18 years, and in many oth«r public positions. A presentation will be made at the installation ceremony of an illuminated address and handsome piece of silver plate.
