( SENSATIONAL CHARGES OF DRINKING AND GAMBLING KKFUTED. Received 28, 9.50 p-.ni; Sydney, April 28, The day the Norfolk arrived an evening paper published a tomewbat sensational statement regarding alleged gambling and drinking on the tiaisport. Inquiries made at the time showed there «as little if any ground for the statement. To-day the same paper published a letter from Sergeant* Major Pleaaante, denying that there was any gambling aboard, or at any rate 'only a little of a harmless dcs* cription, meant to pass away the idle hours of a tedious voyage.
