At a maetiflg of the New Zealand Cricket Council on Saturday night a letter was read from Lord Hawks with J regard to the question of bringing out I a twin of English amateurs. Lord Hawke wrote tbat it was impossible to say if he could accept; but would do all in his power to carry out the cruncil'a wishes. He a»ked for information as to what strength i;f te*m was nee ssiry,: and what expenses would be allowed.' The council estimated the cost of the trip at £2OOO, and suggested tbat each association should get a match, and give a guarantee for the cost.
