OKATO.
CaTHOLIO BAZAAR. A vert successful bazaar has taken place at Okato during the past week. It was opened on Monday by Mr. E. M. Smith, the member for the district, who made an excellent and appropriat <■ speech. The stalls were vary ban 1stmely fitted up and simply loaded with good things, and th« Udieawho presided assisted by a number of young ladies, left i.o stony unturned to do business That ,they succeeded may be judged from fact that over £IOO wan secured after payment of all expenses. The bazaar, which continued on Tug day and Wednesday, was held in aid of the debt on the church which is now almost, if not quite, wiped out. There was a large attendance of the general public of all denominations, eager to «ecure a share of fhs pood things going,! including a number of New Plymouth people. The Rev. Fathers Cognet and Mnilkrd, prints in obarge of the parub, were indefatigable in their efforts to make tee affair a success. The Rev. Deau McKenna of New Plymouth was also a welcome visitor.
