—, —..»- (fkom our own correspondent). The funeral of the late Mr Henry Allenby took place on the 17tb, the Rev. Mr White officiating. A very large attendance of settlers from Tataraimaka and Okato testified to the [universal respect which was felt toi wards their lno fellow s<<ttl»r.

Mr Allsnby cimo from Lincolnshire some 27 years ago. He hss beeo a member of the Wesleyan Church front' his youth, and was an ardent worker when the Tataraimaka Church wnsj built. Within a fortnight or so of his | death he held a service in the O'-iato' Wesleyan Ohurcb. His Christianity was seen in his life, and as Mr White stated in his address at the grave, ho had been exemplary in his rehtionsj with his family circle, his fallow citiz 'ns, and tho chuvch to which he was attached. Much sympathy is fult for the widow and children, who mourn his losj. The s?rvic<> on Sunday eveni ing, 27th, will be of a special memorial character. Mr Allenby lived for some years in Lepperton, and has two brothers at Awatuua, one < f whom is a trustee of the new Wesleyan Church recently op ned there. Mr A. Obatterton, of New Plymouth, who was a fellow passenger of Mr Allenby's, was singula) ly the appointed preacher at [Okato on the Sunday nexs following his friend's deceasp.
