RESIGNATION OF A MINISTER. PHK PRESS ASSOCIATION | Received 24, G. 25 a.m. St. Petersburg, April 23. i The Czar, at the instance of M. Pobyedonosteff, Procurator-General of the Holy Synod, refused to sign a bill to modernise intermediate education and lessen the study of classical languages.
M. Vannovsky, Minister for Education, thereupon resigned.
M. Vannosky has endeavoured consistently to remove grievances and wean students from revolutionary movements, and all classes, especially the students, regret his resignation.
