THE NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENT. PITS PBXB9 ASSOCIATION. Auckland, April 12. The following retained troopers have been selected to represent Auckland in the Coronation Contingent:—R. N. BfcDolald and C. J. E. Smith (First Contingent), E. G. Smith (Second Contingent), M. Canavan and B. B. Paton
(Fourth Contingent), J. 0. Urquhart. . A. F. Saunders (Fifth Contingent), and H. H. Williams (Sixth Contingent) The detachment will leave Onehunga to-morrow afternoon by the Ngtpuhi for New Plymouth, and proceed direct to Christchurch. 0 eof'hn Ngnpuhi Maori racdidites for the Coronation Contingent now in town (Hokino Paraone Kawiti) is a grand nephew of the celebrated chief Kawiti, who fought against tbe British troops in the North in 1845. Hokino comes frem Wi*iomif>, Bay of Islands. He leaves for Wellington to-morrow. • - ..I. -
