Docbrill, the present Mayor, has consented to be nominated for another term, Mr Dockrill has filled the position in a very creditable manner, and undoubtedly has the confidence of the great majority of the people of the Borough. In the present position of affdrs a steady, safe, and cautious hand on the helm is very necessary. There are those who are very anxious to see the Borough rush into a reckless expenditure of borrowed money, There is no doubt the town is at a very criticai period of its history. It is waking up from its long period of comparative inactivity, and progressing in a manner that is absolutely astonishing. New buildings are going up in all directions and its streets are beginning to show little time at his disposal, Mr Mclndoe got the 'bus as far out of the way as possible, or more serious consequences would have ensued. The approach of the winter season is evidenced by the activity of the vendois of patent specifics for treatment of colds and kindred ills. It in astonishing how easily money may be saved and valuable time gained by resiurce to such a well tried remedy as Sykes' Citra jCough, which has for years been before the public, and on its merits came to be recognised as the most important article in every household during the winter months. So much depeads on nipping a cold in the bud, that it pays to have a remedy ready to hand when wanted. HOLLO WAY'S PILLS AND OINTMENT < Reliable remedies. It is hardly necessary to say that under these cir- ' cumstances demands are being made on the Borough Council for new works improvements and extension of streets etc., that were never contemplated two years ago.
