i The success which Messrs Wirfchs' renowned circus and monagerie has met i with during their present tour is ; greater than ever, possibly because it is larger and better all round, although ' there did not seam much room for im- ( provement. The horsemanship is of a . very high standard of excellence, > There is a marvellous little boy contbr- • tionist, who in cleverness has few superiors; while two lady performers ; on the low wire are said to be oE excep- ' tional merit. Besides the splendid collection of trained horses for which [ this company is famed, there are the j two old favourite boxing ponies, which . invariably create a most pleasing diver- . sion. Three highly-trained tigers in the enclosed ting together is a sight 1 rarely to be witnessed, and their perI formances are a marvellous exhibition 1 of the trainer's ar!\ There are also , particularly expert performers on the i Roman rings and horizontal bars, performing baars and greyhounds, as well , as a very clever elephant. The clown--1 ing bnsiness is in very competent J hands, and all the elements of a most successful entertainment are present, . while the performance is carried out , smartly, Such an attractive and popular circus is sure to draw crowded ; houses. The opening performance , takes place on the vacant lied opposite the railway station on Wednesday, and . the season lasts for two nights only, a ■ matinee given on Thursday, 1 ——-
