During the week', titico tbe publication of the gold returns for the three weeks ending April 3i d, additional returns have come to hand from other mine 3 ifl the Auckland district. These show a steady increase in the present year's output. The first qußrtf-r of 1901 yi<lded a total of £146,686, and notwithstanding that tha first quarter of the present year, as far the returns are cobcejned, is not yet compli'twd, the total output For the period to date already amounts to £177,812, or an increase of £31,126.
