During the four ended March 29tb, the Waihi Gold mining Company treated 12,946 tons of ore for bullion v*lued at .£41,231, an average of £3 3s 1 7d per ton. This is a fresh record, and completes the company's output for the first quarter of the present year, showiiog for that perio ! a total of .£121,780, lan increase of £29,112 over the first qu&rer of last year. The increase is due to the fact that the company is handling a higher grade ore, and not to any increase of ere treated. During tbe past month the Chelmsford Goldming Company treated 223 tone for bullion valued at ,£370.
