Received 4 10.30 p.m. Caps TOWN, Apii! 4. Mr Rhodes' funeral '-yoked unparalleled manifestations of grief in Cape Towd. Troops lined the route to the Cathsdral,' along which dense crowds bad gathered. Dr. Jameson and the Premier (Sir James Gordon Sprigg) were included in the pnll-bearers, and Mr Rhodes' brothers and representatives of Lord Milner and Sir Francis Hvly-Hutehin-son (the Governor) were amongst the mourners. The procession included all the leading public men in South Africa, many members of the Afrikander Bond, and representatives of New Zealand and Tasmania. The Archbishop of Cape Town, in his address in the Cathedral, recognised Mr Rhodes' greatness. Three thousand natives on the line of route to the grave on Matoppo Hill, lamented the loss of their " Great Father."
