NEW HEBRIDES SETTLEMENT.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Melbourne, April 4, Messrs Burns, Phiip and Company, have placed at the disposal of the Federal Government 100,000 acres in the New Hebrides with the object of encouraging British settlement. The land will be leased at Is p-r per annum frr each fifty acres with the option of purchase. Abou* six'y famiii's, comprisitg be'wten 200 and 300 souls, ' have already appli d for land. Sydney, Ap. il 4. The first settlement in the New Hebrides will te on t!i<i island of Santz. A steamer leaves with the first batch of sellers on June Ist.
