ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Palmerston North, March 28. This morning a man named Angus Ross, 78 years of age, was discovered under Jhe Fitzherbert bridge. He states that last Sunday he wont down to get a drink, when he fall oyer a small embankment and injured his hip. When found, he was propped up against the bank and had no food or water since the accident. There is a continuouß traffic ever this bridge, and ' it ia extraordinary that the man cmld ; make no sign to attract attention. Ross is a stranger here. He was re-1 moved to the hospital for treatment, i Invercargili,, March 27. j Percy Roymond, aged 23, son of' Captain Raymond, a pionuer settler, and now Lloyd's surveyor at the B'ufT, was found shot dead yebterday in the Mataroa district. He h»d been out shooting rabbits on the GlondKu station. The body was found wire fence, tbe discharged gun lying near by, and the surmise is that the j gun went off accidentally as be wasi getting through the f c«nce. I The body of a man was found in the , estuary this evening. Though not; positively identified, it is almost cer- i tain to be that of George Watson, a' joiner, who has noS been seen since Monday, 17th inst. He was about 50 years old, was somewhat solitary in his habits, end bad experienced a good deal of domestic affliction. •
