POLYNESIAN SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Council of the Polynesian Society was held in New Plymouth on Friday, when the following gentlemen were elected members:— Rev. Oolin Bleazard (West Maitland, N.S.W.), Peter Bull (Wanganui), G. D Turner (Dunedin), D. T. Macintosh (Wanganui), Hon. T. Kelly, M.L.C. (New Plymouth), E. Christian (New York), W. H. Gill (Kobe, Japan), J. Drummond (Christchurcb), W. E, Spencer (New Plymouth), J. L. Whrney (Boston, U.S.A), aud Dr. A. O. HaddoD, F.RS. (president of the Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland). A large amount of correspondence was dealt with, and a list of 84 works —-exchanges and gifts - added to the library, amongst which are 30 volumes of the Journal (■ i tho Authropulogical Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, a very valuable donation.
