Simpson senior had a thrilling experience. Be had to make bis way a considerable distance in the dark, through five feet, of water, and towards the end it dipped to over six feet. He was compelled to swing from overhead timber to timber. RESCUE WORE DELAYED BY WATER. Received 21,1.6 am. Melbodenb, March 20. A further inrush of water this morning delayed the rescue opet at ions. Th 6 pumps are slowly reducing tho flow, and it is expected the rescuers will be able to reaeh the rise where Simpson and King were last seen at about midnight, There is small hope of their being alive. A great crowd has remained round I the mine since the disaster.
