A late start was made owing to the range not being ready to rornmonce firing. At luncheon time nn'y the 300 yards hid boon fired. The highest fcores wefe Lieutenant Hooker, Now Plymouth, 31; Speck, Stratford M.R., 31; Bulberfc, Patei>, 31 ; Whit- , Patea, 30; i Thorpe, Patea, 30 ; Lieutenant Paterson, Haweia, 30 ; Sommsrville, Patea, 30; Johnson, Patea, 29; Moore, Hawera, 29; MaddeD, 29, Pring, Manaia, 29—Settler.
The 500 yards range waq commenced after lunch, but no scores werq available last night.
Members of the Waitara Rifles are (says the Mail) in favour of a dark helmet with the full dress uniform; tunic facings in white and red, The Easter camp of the Taranaki Battalion will, it is understood, be held at Hawera.
