The Takapnna was delayed over half-an-hour on the trip up from. New Plymouth on Saturday through roaniag aground is the Manukas Harbour, just before reaching the Onahunga wharf. It is known to the Marine Department that a hard ridge runs from the fourth buoy into the channel,"and is a sonne of positive danger to the steamers, especially at low water. The Takapnna was fully 25ft inside the baoy, and yet she grounded, notwithstanding that it was not qoite low water. This is the second time the tame steamer has been delayed at this spot within a week. It is expected that the matter will be brought up at the next meeting of the Onehunga Borough Conncil when that body will be asked to make a representation to the Government on the matter, with a view to getting the obstruction removed.
