Dsleasse (French Minister fir Foreign Affairs) states tbat the AngloJapanese treaty, which was communicated to France prior to publicati n, will not cause any modification of the French policy, which is pacific and amiable towards China. I The Novoe Vremya asserts that Rus v sia will not. admit the " open door' policy in Manchuria or other spheres ol Russian influence. There will be nc evacuation of Manchuria until the Rusgo-Chineaa treaty is ratified. Britain has intimated tbat she is prepared to hand Tientsin ovor tc China on May lst.if the other Powers consent. All except Germany agree, The latter requires acquiescence in hei demands relating to Shantung.
