Mr Scales estimates the damage at 12 yer cent, all round, but another esti- t mate by the Underwriters places it at i anything between 20 and 40 per c*nt. f Tenders are being invitfcd for removing, ] reconditioning, and restiring the rargo ] to the wharf. The National, Alliance, United, Victoria, Marine, British and Foreign Companies are understood to have lines but they cannot state as to amount, not knowing whether all the cargo is aboard.
