, PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Dunfdtn, February 26. The Mtthodist Conference opeucd this evening, the Rev. C. H. Garland, the presidtnt, being in the chair. After service the retiring president delivered his addres?, dealing fully with the expansien of the Methodist Church throughout the world, and referring specially te 'Australasia, He spoke ge .erally en the subject of Church union ; any proposals in that direction would be sympathetically received by Methodists. He spoke hopefully of the religious outlook in the colouy. The President was thanked for bis address and the elections were then proceeded with. The Rev. D. J. Murray, Thames, was elected president by a large majority on the first ballot. Rev. Law was elected secretary, the assisting secretary's being T. Free, and T. H, laws; journal secretary, E. W. Grigg; corresponding secretary, G. Ward; Precentor, A. Mitchell. The second reading of stations will be taken on Tuesday. The following were the aatual changes in the first reading of stations: —Auckland, Pitt-street, Rsvs. Garland, Ready, Griffith, and Greenslade; Maharangi, Marshall; Thame?, Price; Upper Thames, Abernethy, Frost, and Belton ; Franklyn, Penny ; C'oro-1 mandel, one to ke sent; Hawera, Porter and OxbroDs; Opunake, Trestrail; Wanganui, Dnwsburyand Eaton; Wellington, Taranaki-street, Smallay, Elliott, and Scotter; Hutt, Tuck (supply) Barneti; Greytown, Pendray, Blameres; Master ton, Prior; Eketa-i huna, Ellis; Pahiatua, Worboys ; Nel-1 I sob, Lewis; Greymouth, McNicoll; [ Lyttelton, Laxfard ; Kaiapoi, Dukes, !
