Received 19,0.19 a.m. London, February 18. •Oat of 114,376 persons in the Boer concentration camp* in January 169 nten, 587 women, acd 1049 children died, the lowest since July lasf. A committee of women ur.der Mrs. Faweett, widow of the Bight Hon. Henry Faweett, appointed by the Government in J*ly to inquire into the condition of camps, has recommended increased comforts and precautions to be provided. Lord Milner has agreed to carry out the recommendation regardless of cost. . • ' NINTH CONTINGENT. Accxxakd, February 18. Jt is now understood the d-parture of the Ninth Contingent from Auckland will take place on March 15tb. Arrangement are made for a wad off.
