W, Boots,' as the oldest member of the Board, to present the late chairman, Mr F. P. Oorkill, who was present, with alargo.* framed photograph of the member*. Mr S:ott, in doing bo, said he bad been associated with Mr Oorkill, on the Board, for'ten .years, and h«d always found'hfn> a taw of progress. Hews* hard-working, and thoagh they had not always agreed on mattere under I discussion, they had got along vtcj | well. Mr Oorkill had been elosely concerned in the initiation of improvements to the hospital buildings, eta, [and always took a lively interest in isnytling appertaining to the welfare of those who came under the Board's care. After referring to the many changes which had taken pi toe on the Board since he was first ftesociat'd with It, twelve y«rs ago, Mr Oorkill said that though there might at times have bee* a little ftiftjon it would he hard to find a local body on which the members had worked *o well together, considering the sis* of the district and the widely different interests they represented.
