In addi'icn to thf selection of articles for sale, chere wer< numerous other money-raising attractions, amongst which the ontertain memg in the were thf chief. Tne ventriloquism of Mr Colliet was immensely enjoyed, and if under such advetjae circumstances 8 ventriloquist can meet with success, then he must be something approaching to a genius. As an entertainer Mi Oollier (who is a member of the Town Band) is a host in himself, and the large audieuces testified warmly tbeii appreciation of his efforts. Mr Duckworth, who is recently out fro® fjome gavtt some particularly finished exhi' bitions of club-swinging, etc. With such on expert in the town the revival of the tymnasiitn club might with advantage be taken into consider-ttjuq, The refreshment stall a epjendid business, and the Indies in charge had .a lively tinie in stterc(ing tQ their numerous cu»t-.m rs, There warn the usual raffles, some of which brought in several p mods, and a shooting gallery near the main entrance was vi> e |] pationisef. The Town B->nd assisted materially, towards the enj 'yraent of those present, and altogether the affaii WK6 not only very enjoyable (exeppi for the antics of a lot of little b >yß}\ but will prove very profitable to tha club, All the ladies at the various stalls worked Well, and had the sa-isfaction of doing a considerable business. : To-night there will he a clearance fsila by auction, all good.* b ing sold I without reserve.
