At the Police Court, a man chirged with shooting ducks out of season, raised the defenoe that he was misled by Magistrate Oruickshank's decision, Counsel for tbe Acclimatisation Society said they had publicy announoed they would prespcu-fl in such cases, as they had been advisel that there were not sufficient grounds for t.t e decision. Uoder the circumstance, Mr McCarthy, S,M„ imposed a nominal penalty of Is and costs £2 13s.
