STAFFING OF SCHOOLS.
The following twenty-five schools in the Taranaki Education District are those affected by the Teachers Silaries Act of last session. Formerly the Board gave a teacher and a pupil teacher to all schools over 40 and under 70. Under the new system a teacher and an assistant or two pupil teachers, is given to schools of over 40 and under 90. Above 90 an addition to the staff is made, roughly speaking, at the rate of an assistant for every 50 and a pupil teacher for every 20 of an increase alternately.
