NOTIOE is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council will be held at the Council Chambers, King-street, New Plymouth, on TUESDAY, the Xlth February, IHO2, at 7.30 p.m., for the purpose of confirming a resolution, passed by the Council on the 14th January, 19C2, ordaioiDg and making by-laws to be, called "The Building By-laws, 1902," to come into operation and force on the 24th ( day of February, 1902; and also that the ] object and purpost of such proposed by-laws is to prescribe, regulate, and control the I erection, alteration, and repair of buildings within th» Borough of siew Plymouth, and the manner in which and the materials of which buildings Bhall be constructed; ati-i to prohibit the construction of, and repairs, alteration*, and additions to, any building without a permit from an Inspector to be appointed by the Council, and to impose and require payment of fees for cervices performed by »uch Inspictor; and to impo»e penalties for breach of any by-law. And also that a cop? ef the proposed by-laws is deposited at the office of the New Plymouth Borough Council, King-street, New Plymouth, and is open to the inspection of the publio during office hourj from 10 am. to 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on all week days except THUBBDAY, and from 10 a.m. to J pjm. on THURSDAYS, and will remain there open to inspection until after the said 11th Februaiy, 1902. Protests must be in the hands of the Secreta r y in writing within 15 minutes after the race. Each piotest mast be accompanied by a deposit of 10a, which sum fhall be forfeited if the protest is not upheld by the Committer. Entrance Fee 10 per cent, of the amount of first prize money offered for each event. Names, weights of competitors (including substitutes), and colours to be worn, must be lodged at the time of entry All post entries v.to close on Regatta day at 12 noon) will be charged 6 per cent, on amount of first priz®. Bookmakers will not be allowed to bet inside the enclosure. The Committee reserve to themselves the right to alter the order or postpone any or all of tbe events, and add any regulations which in their opinion may be necessary.
