PRESENTATION.

I (Communicated).,: At the Lands and Survey Office yesterdav, Mr John Rrrauchon, who has had charge of that office for the last nine years, was presented by the staff with an illuminated address and a gold watch in recognition of his many sterling qmlitits both in his official and private capacity. Mr .tames McK«nzie, who succeeds Mr S'rauohon, made the prestation, and in so doing speke of his long friendship with Mr Strauchon, extending over a great many years, even from boyhood, during which time he had always found him a feirless conscientious officer and a friend of sterling worth, Mr H. M. Skeet, on behalf of the field stiff, expressed the greatest regret at Mr Str&uchon's departure, and at the ume time wished him every success in his new sphere of labcur. Mr W. H. Skinner, on behalf of the office staff, also expressed the very deep i regret they sll felt at the severance fro dq one whom they always found a I conscientious and courteous chief. j Mr G. T. Murray, on behalf of the roads branch, also spoke in the same termo and re-echoed the good wishes for the fuure welfare of Mr Strauchon [and his family.
