WESLEYAN CHURCH.
The circuit quarterly meeting was held on Thursday evening, Rev S. J. Serpell presiding. It was stated ihat the in ccme from all branches of church work for the year was the largest on record, and the circuit balance was on the »ight side. The rotiring circuit stewards, Messrs J. Wbitaker and Jos. T. White were thanked for their services' und re-elected, Messrs Griffiths, W. Hooker and Nenl were elected society stewards. Mr W. A. Collis was elected j representative to the conference which meets this year at Dunedin, with Mr A. Pikett as his substitute. It was resolved to wire to Wellington for a wreath for the funeral of Rev J. H. Wray, who whs formerly pastor of the church, and was held in universal esteem. A vote of sympathy with Mrs Gray and family was also unanimously pa6sed. It was decided to hold a united meeting of members of the quarter board, and the teachers to discuss Sunday School work. It was also arranged to have an annual report of the circuit Home Mission, and the work therein given by the Home Missionary. Other matters affecting the welfare of the church were earnestly dealt with, and the meeting terminated about 10 p.m.
