Tho official returns of Customs revenue for December, 1901, amounted to £ 184|440, whioh, with the quarterly return through the Post Office of £6843, totila £191,283, For December. 1900, the total was £151,984.1 The to-al Quatoms revenue for nine! months of the current fioancial year is £1,616,724, which is £37,224 ov>r tho es im&te and £15,807 mom than for tha corre'pouding nino months of 1900. The gold export for 1901 was 455,5590z5, vilu-id at £1,753,783, or an increase fjr the year of 83,566.n, valued at The principal inore,as.M are; Auokland 23,448 >za in 1901 as against 18,4450zs in 1900, and (Jreymouth 10,814nzi as against 1789 c»n(sic)in 1900. In 1901 Auoklaud exported 85,8050zi of silver vtlued at £10,225, as ..isainst 32,732 c*» v»lu-:d at £3835 in 1900. The totil gold re turn is the highest since 1871.
