At Waiwakaiho on Tuesday I had full yards, bidding wai quiet for most lines, although a fair number changed hands. A good many pens went home. Prices for young cattle were without alteration, wea- 1 ners were in fair demand, but all steers from yearlings upwards were difficult to quit. Springing heifers were yarded in excess of 1 buyers' requirements, and a good many pens . were sent hame. At Awakino, on Thursday, there was a very large muster of stock, the quality of the cattle as usuil, b-ing very superior. Messrs, Nelson Bros., Limited, hive received the following cable from the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, Limited, London, to-day: —Stocks of frozen meat of all kinds are very heavy. The demand is stagnant and there is a further fait in the values of mutton. To-day's quotations are : best Canterbury mutton 3§d per lb, best Napier, Wellington, and A orth Island mutton 7fd per lb; lamb, Ist quality 4|d per lb, second quality 4Jd per lb. LONDON MARKETS. The American visible supply of wheat is estimated at 91,023,000 bushels. The Dunblane's cargo of New Zealand sold at 295. Exceptionally large catalogues are being brought forward at the Sydney and Melbourne wool sales. Competition is animated, and prioes are well maintained. BUCKLAND AND SONS' WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. (Special to News,) Auckland, December 13. Messrs Buckland and Sons report:— Horses.—Large entries and a good demand Heavy draughts told up to £4O, medium and light Ll9 to L 25, good harness Ll4 to L 25, light backs L 5 to i>lo. Cattle.—Dairy cows are required, making L 4 to L 9 2s 6J, dry L2 2s 6d to L 4 3s. 18-mooths to 2J-year steers L 3 to L 4 15s, yearlings 50s. Beef sold irregularly, steers making 18s to 21s, and cows 16s id to 17s per 1001b. Sheep show no improvement. Wethers Bade 7s to 15b sd, ewes 5s to 12s, lambs 3s to 13a. Pigs sold at full rates.
