ARBITRATION COURT.
FM PBBSS ASSOCIATION Wanoanui, Decembir 9. The Arbitration Court commenced its sittings this morning.. In toe tmlture dispute, evidence was called by the employees who demanded that tb* hours and pay should be the same a»ia< the Wellington agreement. Tbe least employers agreed to moat of tbe demands, but wanted Is 3d per hour instead of a weekly wage, and contended for three classes of employees— apices, improvers and journeymen. In the timber trade case, Mr Orr rep* resented the Union. The only point in dispute was 3s per week difference in unskilled labour. The painter* and decorators case toak up till tot luncheon adjournment. Auckland, December 9.
This morning applications were filed to take direct to tbe Arbitration Court the dispute between tbe maatw boteb* era and the Butchers Worker*' Union, and the dispute between tbe Auckland Gos Company and the Gas Stokers end Coalers Union. Thess caeee will be I heard before the Court at its fittings on December 17th.
