REPORT FROM N.Z. TBADI COMMISSIONER. PXR PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wkllctotok, December 6. The Minister for Industries aod Commerce bas received an interim report from Mr. Gow, Government Trade Commissioner, who left this colony some time since with the object of festering trade abroad. Mr. Gow, writ* iag from Durban on 18th October, Informs the Minister that be had been closely occupied in prosecuting bis inquiries into the conditions of %', • South African market for New Z> tland product*, and in furnishing inf>" • •nation to large numbers of iiqulrjf*. Hig observations led him to tne « •>•• phatic conclusion that South Afini offers an unlimited field for New'Z*i> land enterprise. It is admitted mi every hand, be reports, that die wb" a country is orying aloud for bet er rn 1 cheaper food, and if the demand 1 »i been great in the past it must ne *«• sarily be far greater iu the future. In conclusion Mr. Gow says that the need for direct, regular, and suitable sbi •• ping facilities from New Zealand to South African ports is being fownWy imprssed upon him, and tbat it is a matter of precedent importance in the development of trade relations ,wi<h tbat country. He forwards reports from certain firms for the Minister's information. He is convinced that it is only in London that any definite shipping arrangements can be made.
